For over 40 years SmithLee Productions has been a premier recording studio in St. Louis MO. With many happy memories and thankfulness for the many friends made along the way, owners David Smith and Barry Lee are now making plans for their next chapter. Those 40 years have been a labor of love, and have resulted in almost 30,000 successful projects, thousands of happy clients, and many industry accolades, all which were possible in part due to the very high quality of the studio itself. Over the years SmithLee has been host to multiple top name perfomers and recording artists.

Designed by Milam Audio, the European Wing Design control rooms and studios were hand built by Dave and Barry over a 2 year period, while they also ran their business. The rooms were designed for optimal acoustics and sound separation, as well as for comfort and efficiency.

Each of the rooms were built as separate buildings within a building, and the walls and floors do not touch adjacent rooms. Studio 2 features high ceilings, hardwood floors, and an isolation booth. Control Room A and Studio 2 were updated in 2017. The roof was replaced in 2018.

Constructing a studio of this quality today would cost over $1 million.

Built in 1922, the "Warring Building" was originally a furniture store located on what was then Historic Route 66. In 1983 SmithLee Productions purchased the buildling and constructed the studios on the first floor, taking care to retain the building's historic charm. Much of the tin type ceilings and other vintage fixtures remain.  There is a loading dock at the back entrance and restrooms on the first and second floor. There is a parking lot and extra parking nearby.

SmithLee is centrally located between two major highways. It is10 minutes from downtown, and 1/2 hour from St. Louis Lambert International Airport.

The equipment, including exceptional mics, vintage and state of the art outboard gear, instruments, studio and office furniture, etc. as well as exisiting passive income are all negotiable.
